The Chan Centre plays two key roles in the cultural landscape of Vancouver: it is both a performance venue and an event presenter. As one of the architectural jewels of Vancouver, it is known for its stunning design, crystalline acoustics, and breathtaking setting on the UBC peninsula.

The Chan Centre has become one of Vancouver's premier venues for the performing arts, particularly for musical events, and its stage is regularly graced by world-class musicians like Yo-Yo Ma, Ben Heppner, and Ornette Coleman.

Because the centre's facilities are both home to the Chan's own presentation series and available for rental by outside presenters, the goals for the website are twofold: to display event information (including videos, when available, and access to ticket purchasing), and to outline booking info for prospective renters. Using Drupal as the CMS platform, we developed a customized presentation layer for the event calendar that allows visitors to browse events in a flexible, user-friendly manner, and that allows the Chan's staff to easily add and edit information as needed.
