Raised Eyebrow worked with the CCPA's national and provincial offices to complete an in-depth, consultative strategy report for the CCPA that established their online communications priorities, with a focus on the social web (AKA Web 2.0).Our process included interviews with key staff members and external stakeholders; analysis of a wide variety of online tools; and a written report with detailed recommendations. We even helped them write a job description for their new Online Communications Officer.
The strategy process helped the CCPA identify five themes that will inform their ongoing online communications, and determine which specific tools will provide the best return on investment. And perhaps most importantly, given the CCPA's role as a research-driven policy institute, we helped them figure out how to tap into the power of the social web without sacrificing their position as a source of informed, reasoned and trustworthy information.
Once the online communication strategy was in place, Raised Eyebrow worked with the CCPA to implement the first phase of recommendations, including a new website launched in the fall of 2009 that features improved search tools, rich data relationships, expanded multimedia & interactive content, and other enhancements that make their thought-provoking research more accessible, and easier for visitors to share.
The website redesign process also included porting the CCPA's substantial content from a commercial CMS platform into Drupal. And on top of that, we set up a shopping cart system to help make it simpler to become a member, make a donation, or purchase materials.
