Social Media for Nonprofit Boards

Like many of my colleagues here at Raised Eyebrow, I sit on a couple of nonprofit boards in my spare time - and one of the things that's been rewarding for me when I wear that hat is that I can bring some web-geeky expertise to the table and help my fellow board members understand how they can leverage their online networks as well as their offline ones, to support the causes we're involved in. Most of the boards I know are comprised of passionate, well-connected people who are eager to put their spare time to good use - and who better to engage in social media on behalf of the nonprofits they support? These folks are prime suspects for writing blog posts, spearheading peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, and helping to maintain presences on Facebook, Twitter, and so on. So when we were lining up webinars for our fall series, Emira and I landed on the idea of designing a social media workshop especially for board members (and for those who want their boards to pitch in on the social media front).
